The past two seasons in the Western States Hockey League, the Colorado Junior Eagles have made huge strides as a Junior ‘A’ Franchise. The Junior Eagles have finished 3rd in the Mountain division in the consecutive seasons, being two points shy of 2nd place, and three from 1st both seasons.
This past 2014-2015 season, the Eagles won 14 games in a row, setting a franchise record and coming close to the WSHL record. The Junior Eagles have qualified for the playoffs back to back seasons, making it to the 2nd round. In the 2013-2014 playoffs, the Junior Eagles were one win away from advancing to the Thorne Cup Finals. During the 2014-2015 playoffs, the Eagles ended up in the second round, again, coming up short. Also in the first two seasons, the Colorado Junior Eagles have moved eight players on to the NCAA level.
The 2015-2016 season looks to be an exciting one to start before the first puck is even dropped. With the WSHL’s move up to the Tier II Junior ‘A’ level, the Eagles look forward to that next step in bring home the Thorne Cup to Northern Colorado.
"Our goal is not only moving players onto the next level, but preparing them for the next level."
